She regularly practiced Hungarian to maintain her proficiency. Bruckner grew up in Hollywood, California. She had her Hungarian mother and Russian father. They have separated. Her paternal grandfather was German and is now deceased. Her parents came together in Hungary and immigrated from Hungary to U.S. in 1984 through an asylum camp in Italy. Her siblings include three sisters and a brother.
